Frequently Asked Questions

What time is my Virtual Convocation ceremony?

There is no set time that you are required to tune in to your ceremony. The virtual convocation pages for each ceremony will launch at 9 a.m. and will remain available for viewing any time for many weeks. We encourage graduates and their supporters to schedule a time that is convenient to perform their own at-home celebration.

What is the link to the content for Virtual Convocation?

The link: www.nipissingu.ca/convocation will be updated on each ceremony day starting at 9:00 AM. The content will remain active for an extended period of time for graduates and their supporters to view at their convenience.

What can I expect to view and participate in on my Virtual Convocation Day?

On each of the Virtual Convocation dates, we will be releasing the ceremony video including the names of the graduates, and messages from the Chancellor, President and Provost. We encourage graduates and their supporters to engage safely in at-home celebrations and watch the videos as part of their celebration plans. We also encourage everyone to share messages of congratulations on social media to recognize fellow graduates near and far.

When will the next in-person convocation be?

At this time, we are unable to provide an exact date of when we will be able to host an in-person convocation ceremony again. However, once it is safe to do so, the University will begin to invite back members of the 2019 - 2020 and 2020 - 2021 graduating classes to have the opportunity to cross the stage and participate in an in-person event.

We recognize that the 2019-2020 graduates would not have received the package due to the timing of the pandemic and lockdown in 2020. That is why we have decided to send out New Alumni Welcome Packages to the 2019-2020 graduates. It contains many of the same items as the celebration boxes. Please e-mail convocation@nipissingu.ca to request your New Alumni Mailer.
