Convocation 2020

All lending of gowns and hoods for photography purposes has been postponed until further notice due to the increased social distancing measures taken by the University to protect our NU community from the spread of COVID-19. 

All on campus graduation photography has also been postponed. The University plans to offer on campus graduation photography when it is deemed safe to do so.

To graduating students and the rest of the Nipissing University community,

We want to thank graduating students for your dedication, commitment, and for the many contributions you make to the entire Nipissing University community.

For those graduating this year, it may appear that the future will be difficult to navigate. We know the academic journey is not always easy, but through adversity comes growth and, this year especially, you have shown tremendous resiliency. We cannot put into words the pride that all of us at Nipissing University feel in having you graduate from our institution and know that you will continue to represent the Lakers community in everything you do.

Thank you for your patience as we work to find new and joyful ways of celebrating together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I still need to Apply to Graduate if the in-person convocation ceremony is postponed?

All students must apply to graduate during their last term of studies. 

Applications for graduation are available on WebAdvisor under your Academic Profile.

Diplomas will automatically be mailed to those students once approved by the Academic Senate. 

Please ensure that your mailing address is up to date on WebAdvisor.

Is there a Deadline to Apply to Graduate?

Please e-mail: graduation@nipissingu.ca with any questions regarding the status of your application to graduate. 

Can I still purchase a Degree Frame?

Yes, currently you can still order a degree frame to display your Nipissing University degree. However, please understand that this service may take several weeks due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Proceeds from sales are used to support on-going student programs, scholarships, and services through NUSA.

To order your frame, simply fill out the online order form. All frames include domestic shipping within Canada and HST. If the order is shipping outside Canada or you have questions regarding your order please email alumni@nipissingu.ca.
