Dr. Kevin Wamsley
Dr. Wamsley is the current President & Vice-Chancellor of Nipissing University. Recognized as one of the world’s leading Olympic Games experts and historians, Dr. Wamsley has appeared in various media publications/broadcasts nearly 1,700 throughout his academic career, including with such news agencies as CTV, CBC, BBC, CNN, New York Times of London, and the Wall Street Journal. Previously, he served as Director of the International Centre for Olympic Studies over the course of 18 years at Western University.
Dr. Barbara Olmsted
Dr. Olmsted was born in North Bay and competed in two Summer Olympics (1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul). She won a bronze medal in the K-4 500m women’s canoe sprint event in Los Angeles. Dr. Olmsted went on to receive her Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education (Queen’s University), Master of Arts (University of Western Ontario) and Doctor of Education (West Virginia University. She is a retired Nipissing University professor.
Nancy Olmsted
Nancy, also from North Bay, competed in the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympic games. Nancy was the first woman athlete to win six gold medals in the Canadian Canoe Championships in Calgary in 1983. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University and has gone on to receive a Master of Rehabilitation (University of Toronto) and Master of Science – Rehabilitation Science (Carleton University Sprott School of Business).
