Student Mural Competition

Paint a wall in the Offices of the Dean of Arts and Sciences

104 inches wide x 197 inches high (approx. 8.5 x 16.5 ft)

Specs

• The selected student(s) will be expected to complete the mural over the course of one weekend (2 power-painting days)
• Subject matter/style/design is wide open
• Current Nipissing students may apply as a solo artist or as artist teams
• Honorarium is $500.00 total (if you apply as a team, this would be split between team members)
• Submit a preliminary sketch in the same aspect ratio as the wall in jpeg format to laurap@nipissingu.ca
• Preliminaries may be completed in traditional media (pencil on paper) or in a digital format such as Procreate
• The winning design will be selected by the Dean of Arts and Sciences

While the successful applicant will be responsible for procuring and paying for supplies, Prof. Laura Peturson will provide assistance and advice on the appropriate paint, brushes, etc. Contact laurap@nipissingu.ca with any questions about the application process.
