English Speaker Series continues on campus this week

Join us today at noon in room A250 and on Friday March 7 at 7:00 p.m. in room H102 as we continue our English Speaker Series on campus.The 2014 English Studies Student Symposium is happening today from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. in room A250. Fourth year students Andrea Peckover, Aaron Brown and Kevin Tobin will present versions of their final papers on C.S. Lewis, "The Matrix" and “Ready Player One”. Pizza and pop provided!
Doyali Farah Islam joins us in room H102 on Friday March 7 from 7 – 8 p.m. with “Spiritual Border-Crossings: The Poetry of Doyali Farah Islam”. As the first-place winner of Contemporary Verse 2’s ‘Thirty-fifth Anniversary Contest’,  her work has also appeared in Grain Literary Magazine (38.2), amongst other places. Her debut book of poetry, Y?suf and the Lotus Flower, was published by BuschekBooks (Ottawa) in October 2011. Born to Bangladeshi parents, Islam grew up in Toronto and spent four years abroad in London, England. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto (Victoria College) in English Literature and Equity Studies.
