Christmas in November TODAY
You’ve heard the music in the stores and children are already working to compile a wish list for the big event on December 25. Here’s your chance to celebrate today, Wednesday, November 16, with Christmas in November from 1 – 4 p.m. in the main Cafeteria. This event, organized by the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) is open to all Nipissing and Canadore students, as well as faculty and staff.
Christmas in November features five different stations:
1: Taking Photos With Santa
You and your friends, roommates, or significant other, can take a photo with Santa. All photos will be put up on the NUSU Facebook page. Please bring a monetary donation in order to have your photo taken. All money will be given to the North Bay Warming Centre and The Gathering Place.
2: Writing Christmas Cards
These cards will be delivered to patients at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Christmas day along with their lunch. This is a great way to let people feel that they're not alone.
3: Food Bank Donation Station
Bring a non-perishable food item and donate it to the NUSU Student Food Bank. By donating you are helping students who cannot afford groceries.
4: Christmas Colouring/Craft Station
Stop by and do some Christmas colouring to take a break from studying, essays and/or group projects.
5: Snack Station
Stop by the snack station and grab a hot chocolate or apple cider, along with some tasty treats. Thank you to Chartwells for their kind donation.
So wear your ugliest sweaters and come out to celebrate Christmas in November.
Santa will perform a reading at 3 p.m. from the Literacy Nipissing book Back To Work For Santa's Elves.
This event is sponsored by Student Development and Services.
