Training Records

Supervisors must ensure that any student hired for employment at Nipissing University has received any and all relevant training that pertains to the position being offered.  All such training must be recorded, with the date of training, type of training and who did the training. In addition to recording training, supervisors are also responsible for ensuring that a safety orientation of the workplace is done with the new worker. An interactive fillable record of training form can be obtained here: Safety Orientation Check-List and Training Record Form (if the link will not open, please right-click and save to your computer).

It should be pointed out that safety training does not just apply to Science hires, but also applies to Fine Arts, Print Plus, UTS and any other area that uses WHMIS controlled substances.

For more information on where and how to access these courses, please contact the HR Generalist: Health, Safety & Wellness at ext. 4811.
