The Transcultural Interdisciplinary Learning Experiences (T.I.L.E.) program is a sequential expansion of Nipissing University's outbound mobility programs designed for students, staff and faculty (2021-2025).

T.I.L.E. is part of the Global Skills Opportunity, an integral component of the Government of Canada’s International Education Strategy, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, and administered by Universities Canada.

Who is T.I.L.E. for?

The program (GSO) is designed to encourage low-income students, students with disabilities and Indigenous students to participate in study and work abroad programming.

It is also an important step towards achieving Canada’s trade diversification goals (non-traditional countries) and strengthening international networks.

All disciplines, and varying lengths of time.

The majority of the funding will specifically support students (direct funds for their study and work abroad); limited funds to assist faculty and staff facilitation.

Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (E.L.A.P.):

In 2009, the Government of Canada announced the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) to support the development of human capital and the next generation of leaders in the Americas while strengthening the linkages between post-secondary institutions in Canada and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The scholarships also advance Canada's objectives for the Americas: democratic and accountable governance, human rights, the environment, diversity and Indigenous peoples.

The Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) scholarships are facilitated through institutional collaborations and student exchange agreements between post-secondary institutions in Canada and their partners in eligible countries/territories.
