Assistive Technology
Student Accessibility Services has many tools which students registered with us can access to accommodate barrier-free learning. Upon approval from your Accessibility Consultant, computers, smart pens, digital recorders, FM systems, and other technology is available for short-term loan. Whether it is a loan or a BSWD equipment purchase, training with these tools and software programs is provided by the Adaptive Technology Technician. Student Accessibility Services also has in-office testing facilities, all of which have computers loaded with assistive software, as well as Adaptive Technology Rooms located in the Harris Learning Library.
The Adaptive Technology Technician (ATT) assists students with purchases, installation, and training with assistive software and equipment. Additionally, the ATT provides troubleshooting services for assistive equipment and software that have been recommended or provided by SAS. The ATT also provides services for alternate format requests, including textbooks and tests.
