Nipissing University appoints Interim President

The Chair of the Nipissing University Board of Governorsannounced today the appointment of Vicky Paine-Mantha as Interim President
and Vice-Chancellor.  The Chair further
announced today that for personal reasons, Dr. Lesley Lovett-Doust
tendered her resignation as President and Vice-Chancellor, effective February
17, 2012.

Paine-Mantha
has been a member of the university community for 12 years.  For the last seven years, she has served as
Vice-President, Finance, Administration and Strategic Capital Investments.
Prior to this, was a member of the Board of Governors for five years.  She has previously worked as President and
CEO of several private companies and as a Vice-President, Dean and Professor
with Canadore College.  She holds an MBA
and is a Chartered Accountant.

Paul
Belanger, Chair of the Board, commented that “We look forward to proactively
seeking the input of the Nipissing community as we identify a new
President.  In the interim, we are
confident that the university will continue to prosper under the guidance of
Ms. Paine-Mantha and our talented leadership team.”

“I
would like to thank Dr. Lovett-Doust for her three years of service,”
continued Belanger.  “Under Dr.
Lovett-Doust's leadership, Nipissing has realized significant accomplishments
including the construction and opening of the Harris Learning Library, the
introduction of new programs and curriculum, the development of strong
relationships with Aboriginal communities, and the $15 million benefaction of
the Schulich School of Education.”
