Nipissing welcomes prospective students and alumni

The red carpets are ready to roll as Nipissing University gets set for a fun and busy weekend. The university’s North Bay campus will welcome more than 600 special guests, including prospective students, their families and friends, this Saturday, October 26, for the annual Fall Open House. Guests from near and far will be visiting the campus, with visitors from the North Bay area, and from across the province, registered to attend.
There is still time for students to register for this event atwww.ibelongatNipissingU.ca. As well, students who are interested in learning more about the University are welcome to attend without registering in advance.
The open house will officially begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with Me To We speaker Scott Hammell scheduled to inspire the crowd to find their driving passions and make a positive difference. Hammel is a three-time Guinness World Record holder and Me to We Speaker who combines social activism with the art of illusions and escapes. His third world record—becoming the first person in the world to skydive while handcuffed and blindfolded—challenged a group of students to raise $8,500 to build a Free The Children school in Ecuador.
Guests will also be treated to campus tours and information sessions. University staff and faculty will be on hand to answer questions on topics ranging from academic programs and admissions to residence and athletics.
Nipissing University will also be welcoming alumni back to campus this weekend during Homecoming, with a series of events taking place on and off campus, including the Alumni Awards, the Nearly Naked Mile, Lakers hockey action and the always popular Tailgate party.Open House Schedule of Events10:??00 – 10:45 a.m.?Welcome Check-in/Information Booths??10:45 – 11:00 a.m.?Welcome from the President, Mike DeGagné?
