Partnership helps entrepreneurs grow
Nipissing University has joined a partnership that willassist northern entrepreneurs to expand their business into national and international markets.TheNorthern Expansion Program is a partnership that includes Nipissing University, RDEE Ontario Alliances and Contact North. The program will deliver six workshops via video-conference to help businesses create a realistic and practical business expansion plan.
Industry experts from Ontario will lead the workshops. Participants can attend the video conference workshops at Contact North facilities.
In addition to the workshops, participants can also attend one-on-one consultation sessions to tailor the content to their organization. The program will develop community partnerships, economic growth and foster business alliances in Northern Ontario.
Nipissing University and the university’s Centre for Flexible Teaching and Learning, in particular, will be a significant asset to the partnership. The university’s role in the partnership includes training teachers and workshop leaders, designing and building the series of workshops and providing technical support.
The first of the six workshops took place on April 2. Future workshops are scheduled for May 7, May 29, June 18, August 13 and September 10.
