Education Centre temporary shut down
The Education Centre of Nipissing University and Canadore College will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, September 1, from approximately 4:30 – 9 p.m. for a mandatory shutdown related to internal water systems.
The Education Centre at 100 College Drive will be closed to everyone except security, select employees and contractors involved in the scheduled work.
It is anticipated that the work will be completed on schedule.
The closure will affect only the main building at the Education Centre. All other buildings, including the Harris Learning Library, Townhouse Residences, R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre, Monastery Hall and the residence complexes at the bottom of College Drive will be unaffected.
Please note: water shutdowns can result in sediment settling into the pipes and subsequent water discoloration at water sources ( i.e. fountains, sinks, toilets, etc.). This discoloration can be unsightly; however, it is not a health hazard. If you observe such discoloration at a water source, please allow time (2-5 minutes) for the water source to flush through until such discoloration is gone.
