Students and Police working together for food, clothes and clean streets

Nipissing University students, along with members of the North Bay Police Service are cleaning up the neighborhood while collecting food and clothing donations this Saturday, October 1, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The group will be working in the area known as Thibault Terrace, specifically the following streets: McNamara Street, Sherryl Crescent, Cypress Court, Dover Court, McGibbon Street, Southview Crescent, Cartier Street, Leonard Street, Justin Street and Ursula Sreet.

It’s an annual initiative organized by Nipissing’s Office of Aboriginal Initiatives - Biidaaban Community Service-Learning, and the North Bay Police Service.

Besides picking up litter, the crew is also collecting food donations for the North Bay Food Bank, and collecting clothing for the Nipissing First Nation Food Bank.

If you have items to donate, please register your address before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, with: Keith Martin, Student Placement Coordinator, Nipissing University, at 705-474-3450 ext. 4684 or email:keithm@nipissingu.ca.

Students will be collecting non-perishable goods and gently used clothing. Bags or boxes will be picked up at the end of the driveway.

The North Bay Police Service and Nipissing University will not be held responsible for any items that are not picked up.
