The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Nipissing University invites applications for a 10-month Limited Term Appointment position in Sociology at the Assistant Professor level, commencing August 1, 2019 or when filled.

The position requires an individual with specialization in the Sociology of Health. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Introduction to Sociology, Research Methods, Social Gerontology, Sociology of Medicine, Health and the Family and Special Topics on Aging and Health. Preference will be given to candidates with additional expertise in quantitative sociological research methods.  

Requirements for the position include: a completed doctoral degree in Sociology (or closely related field appropriate to the area of specialization), evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level, and a demonstrable potential to develop a record of research. The position includes instruction of three courses in the fall term and three courses in the winter term.

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Nipissing University is a dynamic academic unit committed to excellence in teaching and research.
