NU School of Business hosting national conference

Nipissing University’s School of Business is hosting the 2014Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) Conference, May 10-13, at Deerhurst Resort in Muskoka.The conference attracts over 400 business and administrative sciences scholars from across Canada to share scholarly works and perspectives. This year, the theme is Sustainability and Innovation in Work and Leisure.
The event features a panel discussion, titledRace to Resource Riches, which will touch on the development of the rich Ring of Fire resource deposits. The panel is intended to capture and express multiple perspectives by including the viewpoints of First Nation communities and resource companies. Panelists include, Alan Coutts, a mining executive with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of exploration, feasibility, construction and production of mineral deposits; Angus Toulouse, Councillor for the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation; Bob Rae, former Premier of Ontario and senior partner at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP; and Dr. Bruce Bidgood, Associate Professor in the School of Social Work, University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and Terrace City Councilor. TheRace to Resources Riches panel discussion takes place on May 13 at 10:45 a.m.

Keynote speakers include, Dr. David Suzuki, renowned environmentalist, on May 12 at 12:15 p.m.; and Roxanne Joyal, founding member of Free the Children and Co-CEO of Me to We, on May 11 at 7:30 p.m.
