Nipissing University is thrilled to offer a bursary to students who have travelled to our campus in North Bay, Ontario to participate in various events hosted by the Student Recruitment Office.

New this year: Applications will be accepted from students who attend several online events hosted by the Student Recruitment Office.

to Nipissing University*

$100 per student travelling a minimum
of 350 kilometers from their home address
to Nipissing University*

Attends a minimum of 4
unique eligible online events

*Distance is calculated from the address listed on the OUAC application to 100 College Drive, North Bay, ON

Eligibility

The applicant must:

  • Be a citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or someone who is currently residing in Canada on a student visa
  • Be entering Nipissing University for the 2022-2023 academic year. (September 2022 entry only)
  • Submit the Future Students Event Bursary Application Form by July 5, 2022
  • Limit of one bursary per applicant applies. Award has no cash value. Award will be credited to the applicant's tuition account in September 2022 once event attendance and student status has been verified.

Below is a list of events that are eligible for consideration for the Future Students Events Bursary award:

In-Person Events

The applicant must register in advance and travel a minimum of 150 kilometers to attend in-person events such as an in-person campus tour or March Open House* by July 1, 2022

Online Events

The applicant must register and attend a minimum of three of the following online events (hosted by the Student Recruitment Office) before July 1, 2022:

  • Fall Open House*
  • March Open House*
  • Shadow Day*
  • Education Expo
  • Post Graduate Information Day
  • Live Guided Virtual Tour (only one Live Guided Virtual Tour attendance record will count towards final event total)
  • Nipissing University Information Session Webinar (only one Information Session attendance record will count towards final event total)
  • Webinars (various)

*The Student Recruitment Office reserves the right to cancel events or change event formats (in-person or online) without notice


Students can attend both in-person and online events, however, they must choose to apply for event attendance consideration in only one of the following categories:

  • In-Person Events
  • Online Events

Notes

It is strongly recommended that bursary applicants consistently register for events using the same name and email address for event attendance verification purposes.
