Applications for admission to undergraduate studies will be considered for those who have completed their high school education through a program of homeschooling.
The type of program, measurable results (i.e., SAT/AP/ACT scores etc.) and other factors (including letters of reference, personal interview) may be taken into consideration in the admission decision of such applicants.
The following are the document requirements for a homeschool applicant.
- Personal Statement
- The statement should outline your homeschool experience, what you intend to study at Nipissing and how your homeschool experience has prepared you for university.
- List of Curriculum and Textbooks
- This should indicate the homeschool curriculum followed, and a list of textbooks used for the various courses completed.
- Homeschool Transcript
- Measurable results (see examples below)
- SAT
- SAT subject tests that correspond with program prerequisites
- ACT
- Ontario 4U and/or 4M courses
- At minimum they should be the program specific prerequisites, however, six including the program prerequisites is preferred. Provincial equivalents may be presented in replace of Ontario courses.
- AP scores that correspond with program prerequisites
- IB scores that correspond with program prerequisites
- Reference Letters (optional)
Upon review of documents submitted you may be required to submit additional documentation and/or attend an interview.
Documents may be submitted to admissions@nipissingu.ca except for any measurable results which must come directly from the issuing organization to Nipissing University.
