9:00 AM – Keynote: Re-imagine Justice for Sexual Harm: Why I Fought for a Circle, Not a Courtroom
Marlee shares her journey as one of the first survivors in North America to resolve a sexual assault case through restorative justice. Participants will explore alternative approaches to justice that focus on healing, empowerment, and breaking cycles of harm.

11:15 AM – Workshop: Does Cancel Culture Work? Humane Strategies for Responding to Harm
This session provides a space to examine cancel culture, its mental health impacts, and whether punishment prevents harm. Participants will learn non-punitive strategies for accountability and building inclusive, trauma-informed communities.

Learning Outcomes (highlights):

  • Understand restorative justice principles and trauma-informed approaches
  • Explore diverse justice options that centre survivors and their agency
  • Analyze cancel culture and apply non-punitive, anti-oppressive strategies for responding to harm
  • Build visions of community and conflict transformation that support healing

Participants are welcome to stay for both the keynote and the workshop but can also choose to join just one of the events.
