Testimonials

A patient recently discharged home wanted me to extend her appreciation and gratitude for the excellent nursing care provided by one of your 4th year BScN students. The patient was in awe of the compassion the student offered her. She stated she has been a patient many times in the past few years and although she has received great care during most admissions, she felt the care provided this admission was exceptional from two of our own nursing staff as well as from your student. The patient was adamant that the nursing student be acknowledged for her excellence as she had such a significant impact to her recovery and current well-being.

Hospital Unit Administration

I am writing to offer a note of thanks to you and your nursing program. In November 2015 I gave birth to my baby daughter at the Almonte General Hospital. During the difficult labour I was lucky enough to be attended by a lovely young nurse from your school. Her name was Michelle and she was knowledgeable, patient and kind. Everything that you would hope for in a nurse. She was a testament to your program and a wonderful ambassador for Nipissing University.

Her research focuses on the experiences of people living with a long-term condition (with a particular interest in chronic respiratory disease and older people) and how we can support their self-management and health care needs. Her other interests are in health services research, such as skill mix and health service delivery in the health care workforce (with a focus on primary/ community health care settings), and digital health. She also has a strong interest in…
