Homecoming in Brantford - Catch a glimpse inside Nipissing Brantford’s new building

Did you ever wonder how the former Public Utilities Building that is now home to Nipissing University has been transformed?

As part of the Brantford Campus Homecoming event, this Saturday September 24, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Nipissing University invites the community to drop in at 50 Wellington Street in Brantford, Ontario, to see how the former PUC building is now being used as a space to educate the next generation of teachers.

The facility now houses two lecture theatres, six classrooms, two seminar rooms, a learning technology service area, an Early Learning Room, as well as faculty offices and administrative space. While the facility features all the technology required to engage modern university students, many of the original design features have been retained including the marble staircases and walls, and glass block windows, creating a unique juxtaposition of old and new.

Nipissing University officially opened the doors to the renovated PUC building in 2009.
