Homecoming is coming

Get ready to discover your inner Laker maniac later this month during Nipissing’s annual Homecoming weekend. It’s a weekend like no other.  It allows students, staff, faculty, friends and alumni to show their school spirit and have fun doing it.

This year’s events kick off on Friday, September 30, with the Alumni Awards Reception. More than 30 influential and distinguished alumni will be recognized for their amazing achievements and contributions.  Come on out and celebrate with our grads and their families. 

The events turn a little more maniacal on Saturday as the Laker Maniacs will be leading the charge encouraging everyone to show their spirit for the blue and green! Saturday morning begins with Pints and Pancakes at the Lakers Varsity Soccer games.  Eat flapjacks and enjoy a pint while you cheer on the Lakers against the Ryerson Rams.

From there, hop on the bus and head down to Memorial Gardens for a pre-game tailgate party from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. We’ll have everything you need: food, a beer tent and live entertainment courtesy of the classic rock stylings of MLC, featuring professor Rob Graham on drums.  Finish off your perfect blue and green day by cheering on the Lakers hockey team in their regular season opener versus the Ottawa Gee Gees.

Special guest Cabbie will be there throughout the day to sign autographs, interview players and host a few events.
