Andrew to discuss beating the odds
Nipissing University welcomes Lesley Andrew to campus on Monday, March 26, at 7 p.m. for an engaging lecture about beating the odds – taking the responsibility for personal change and growth, overcoming obstacles, facing fears and attaining goals.?The lecture will take place in the Nipissing University Theatre (F213).
Topics of discussion include multiple intelligence, the gifts of being learning disabled, creative problem solving, critical thinking skills, developing organizational skills, time management, and finding and being a hero.
Students with learning challenges, parents, families, educators, professionals working with children and youth, and community leaders will not want to miss this exciting and inspirational presentation.
Andrew speaks of herself and her own experiences through a mixture of stories, poignant memories, humour, lessons to be learned and inspiration demonstrating how anyone can triumph in the face of adversary. Her presentations provide excellent proof of what a learning disabled person can accomplish, that everyone has gifts, and that uniqueness is to be valued.
