Business grad achieves national honour
Nipissing alumnus, Mitchell Crown (BBA ’11) recently became part of an elite group of only 27 students from Ontario to make the National Honour Roll for this year’s national Uniform Evaluation (UFE).
The Uniform Evaluation (UFE) is one of the world’s most challenging professional entry exams. The three-day evaluation assesses competencies necessary for Chartered Accountants (CAs) including essential knowledge, professional judgment, ethics and the ability to communicate.
The UFE is a key component of the CA qualification program, which includes prescribed education, practical experience and examination requirements. Students must successfully complete this program in its entirety before they are permitted to use the Chartered Accountant designation.
“My experience at Nipissing gave me all the tools to be successful,” said Crown. “Accounting was always an option I was considering, but if it wasn’t for the professors and some mentors I have had along the way, I may not have pursued accounting.”
Other alumni that were successful in writing this year’s UFE include:
- Blair Grant (BBA ’11)
- Coltin Grison (BBA ’11)
- Marie Hemmings (BBA ’11)
- Alisha Witt (BBA ’09)
