Colonel discussing Canada’s mission in Libya
The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council will host Colonel Alain Pelletier of the Canadian Forces for a discussion titled Operation Mobile: Canadian Forces and the NATO Mission in Libya, on February 15 at 7 p.m. in the Weaver Auditorium (B200).Colonel Pelletier will discuss Canada’s involvement in the NATO-led effort to enforce the no-fly zone over Libya during last year’s conflict between pro and anti-Gaddafi forces in that country.
In March 2011, Colonel Pelletier of the Canadian Forces was appointed Commander of Task Force Libeccio, the Canadian Air Component to Operation United Protector, the NATO-led mission over Libya.
