DeMarco, Gilmore, Ardron and Town named All-Stars
On February 20, 2012, The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association handed out its annual hardware at the 2012 awards banquet in Barrie, Ontario kicking off the 2012 OCAA women’s volleyball championship hosted by Georgian College.Lucia DeMarco, Megan Gilmore, Kristi Town were named OCAA second team all stars while freshman Brittany Ardron was named a 1st team all star, West division rookie of the year and OCAA rookie of the year.
DeMarco a fourth year middle blocker and Gilmore a fifth year middle led the Lady Lakers in scoring averaging 3.5 points per game ranking 5th in the OCAA scoring race while Town a fourth year setter was responsible for distributing the ball to the potent offence.
Ardron a 6’1” outside hitter from Lakefield had a strong rookie campaign averaging 3 points per game ranking third amongst the Lady Lakers while breaking the top 20 in the OCAA.
