Dr. Srigley speaking at the Near North Palliative Care Network Anniversary dinner
Dr. Susan Srigley, chair of the department of Religions and Cultures at Nipissing University is a guest speaker at the Near North Palliative Care Network’s (NNPCN) 25th Anniversary dinner, October 27 at the Best Western Hotel (700 Lakeshore Drive).The NNPCN will also be honouring the founder of the organization, Joan Burnett, as well as celebrating its hard working volunteers.
Dr. Srigley, a palliative care volunteer, teaches courses at Nipissing on Death and Immortality and Death, Dying and Spirituality. She will be speaking about the spiritual traditions that address the relation between living well and dying well, as well as the challenges for a community organization that serves the needs of the dying in a culture that is uncomfortable talking about death.
