Human Services Summit

The Nipissing District Social Services Administration Board is hosting a Human Services Summit on October 10, and is looking to engage people at the university, the deadline to confirm attendance is TODAY, September 26.Here’s a bit more about the event from the NDSSAB:WE ARE WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
WHO: Anyone who works with the vulnerable people of our community, municipalities or funders of human services
WHAT: A day of conversation and collaboration that focuses on our strengths, resources and solutions to identified challenges in 2012-13
WHEN: October 10, 2012 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: North Bay Indian Friendship Centre, 980 Cassells Street North Bay, ON
WHY: To best serve our citizens by proactively assessing the community’s needs and leveraging all of our resources in these trying times of decreased revenues and funding.
We invite you to be part of this community conversation so that we can all anticipate and work together to meet the needs of the people we serve. This is an opportunity to exchange information about your situation and develop strategies to chart our common future in this time of austerity. There will be moderated panels and discussion groups, with a synopsis of the day’s findings distributed to everyone in attendance. A finalized agenda will be issued soon. Your participation and input is valuable. Please share this invitation with others who you think may wish to join this exchange.
