Nipissing Brantford Convocation
Nipissing University Brantford will celebrate graduates with a convocation ceremony on Tuesday, June 19, at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts in Brantford at 2:30 p.m.
The joint convocation is for students enrolled in the concurrent Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education program offered jointly by Nipissing and Wilfrid Laurier University.
This year, 113 students will graduate with a Bachelor of Education and 13 students will graduate with a Master of Education from the Schulich School of Education in Brantford.
Nipissing will also present the Honourable William G. Davis with an honorary degree. Mr. Davis is the 18th Premier of Ontario, a position he held for 14 years, from 1971 – 1985. His support of and role in Canada’s constitutional negotiations was pivotal in achieving the 1982 Constitution. Davis also served Ontario as Minister of Education and Minister of University Affairs. During his political career, he established many new public schools, undertook dramatic revisions of Ontario's school board system, created new universities and community colleges, and established the TV Ontario educational television network.
