Nipissing in Great Canadian Appathon
A dedicated group of Nipissing students competed last weekend in the Great Canadian Appathon, a 48-hour national competition to create the best game application for the mobile operating system of their choice.The Great Canadian Appathon is open to Canadian post-secondary students from coast-to-coast. It features up-and-coming game developers, designers and other insomniacs who race against the clock to design and create the next hit mobile game.
The Nipissing contingent, consisting of four computer science students, Brandon Dobbs, Kyle Jaynes, Alexander Lambe Foster, and Bryan Sarlo, dubbed their team XOFACADE. They have the chance to win some serious prizes, including $25,000 and their game published in the app store. The grand prize winner will be announced on Movember 8, 2012.
At press time, team XOFACADE were busy recovering from their 48-hour caffeine-fuelled codeathon and mystery surrounded the app they created. Stay tuned to NU News in coming weeks for an update.
