Nursing programs gain candidacy accreditation
Two programs in the School of Nursing's Registered Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RPN to BScN) program recently received candidacy accreditation by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) Accreditation Bureau. The three-year, full-time Collaborative Bridging program, delivered at the North Bay campus, and the five-year, part-time Blended Learning program, delivered all across Ontario with the help of Nipissing’s Centre for Flexible Teaching and Learning, were reviewed during a three day, on-site, peer review visit.
This accreditation is the first in a two step extensive review process by CASN. The programs will undergo the second step of review for full accreditation approval after several graduating classes have completed the program.
The School of Nursing would like to thank all of the staff, faculty and students who assisted in achieving this important step to ensure a quality program.
