Prince Charles receives Dr. Long’s book
During his recent visit to Canada, His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, was presented the book Treaty No. 9 - Making the Agreement to Share the Land in Far Northern Ontario in 1905, written by Dr. John Long, professor in the Schulich School of Education.The book was presented to the Prince by Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Grand Chief Stan Beardy. As he gave the book, Grand Chief Beardy reminded the Prince how important Treaty relationships are and how relevant they are today. The Prince responded by saying he is aware of the Treaty responsibilities and is looking forward to meeting with other First Nation leaders later in his Canadian visit.
Grand Chief Beardy received an honorary degree from Nipissing University in 2011.
