Following the success of the recent TEDxNipissingU Talks, held at Nipissing’s Muskoka campus on March 8, NU News is proud to announce that for the next few weeks, we will feature some of the speakers who presented.Today’s NU News featured TEDxNipissingU Talk is:
Roy Slack - A Global Response to a Local Emergency: The Chilean Mine Rescue
Roy Slack started Cementation’s operations in Canada as President in 1998. Today, Slack is responsible for Cementation’s operations in North and South America which include companies in the USA and Chile. The Cementation group and their Chilean partner, Terraservice, were involved in the mine rescue program at the San Jose mine in Chile.
The inaugural TEDxNipissingU event featured 12 live speakers, including Nipissing University faculty members Dr. Peter Nosko, Ken Stange and Renee Valiquette, as well as staffer Alexandra Archibald. Each speaker presented a short talk on their interpretation of the theme “What’s Possible”.
