New campus group fighting obesity, promoting health

Nipissing University is pleased to introduce its own local chapter of the Canadian Obesity Network, working to connect students and professionals under the age of 30 who have an interest in obesity-related issues, nutrition and healthy living in general.The group is currently recruiting students, alumni, faculty members, health professionals, and researchers under the age of 30 to help create a presence in North Bay and on the Nipissing University campus that is actively working towards shedding light on obesity research, education, and prevention.
The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 from 7 – 8 p.m. at Chancellor’s House Residence, 900 Gormanville Road, North Bay.
This will mark the first of monthly chapter meetings, and will highlight the mandate and role of the chapter, as well as the goals for the year. Questions or concerns, should be directed toconsnp.nipissing@gmail.com.
