Lots of fun on the Muskoka campus
Nipissing’s Muskoka Campus is ending the Fall term with a bang! On Friday, November 28, they celebrated their new partnership with Hunters Bay Radio 88.7 FM with the official opening of the Hunters Bay Radio Nipissing University Satellite Studio.
Members of the public, representatives from the Town of Bracebridge, District of Muskoka, Fednor, Muskoka One as well as Hunters Bay Radio's Managing Director, Jeff Carter, and host of Tony's Rockin' Shindig and local MP, Tony Clement, were on hand to launch the new studio. It will enable the community of Bracebridge and surrounding communities to get involved with the station and programming.
The Social Justice Club has been working very hard to support the needs of students and the Muskoka community. On Thursday, December 4, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. students will be treated to the musical talents of local singer-songwriter Gina Horswood and her guest Dani Taylor.
Held at Bug Eyed Betty's Cafe located at the Muskoka Campus, this event is part of the Social Justice Club's Take A Break week focussing on good mental health. It is open to the public and admission is a non-perishable food donation. The Social Justice Club has collected over 250 lbs of food to date that will be donated to the Manna Food Bank later this week.
