Mathematics Research seminar
Nipissing University’s Computer Science and Mathematics department is pleased to announce an upcoming research seminar featuring Dr. Alex Karassev discussing Reversible Spaces and Products, on Friday, October 3, at 10 a.m. in room A223.
Here’s an abstract:
A space X is called reversible if any continuous bijection of X onto itself is a homeomorphism. It is well-known that any compactum is reversible, however, there are other examples of reversible spaces, e.g. manifolds without boundary. In this talk we show that there are connected reversible spaces such that their product is not reversible. This is a joint result with Vitalij Chatyrko.
