Talk on prepping your archive
Nipissing’s Fine and Performing Arts department is hosting a talk by Heather Saunders titled, Anticipating the Archive: Preparing your Personal Papers as an Artist this Friday, February 7, from 10 – 11 am in Monastery Hall (M106).Heather Saunders is an artist, writer, adjunct professor in the Department of Fine & Performing Arts at Nipissing University, and library manager at the Harris Learning Library, which serves Nipissing and Canadore College. Saunders’ artwork has been exhibited throughout Canada and the US, most recently in Chicago, New York, Milwaukee, and Toronto. A former publisher of FUSE magazine, she has turned her attention to self-publishing with Artist in Transit, an 85,000-word blog recognized by the Feminist Task Force of the American Library Association. She is also a guest blogger about art for Paradigm Shift, which represents New York’s feminist community.
Anticipating the Archive: Preparing your Personal Papers as an Artist will assist artistswishing to promote themselves through archives and to protect their artistic legacies will come away with ideas about what to keep and how to keep it.
