CIC talks African history

The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC is pleased to welcome Dr. Amandou Ba of Laurentian University for an important presentation titled,Africa and the Second World War: African Participation and Role in the Creation of the Free World on Friday June 5th, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Nipissing University (room A224).
Drawing on his extensive research on African history, Dr. Ba will speak on twentieth century African history and the struggles African troops undertook to ensure a victory for the Allies.  This presentation is one in a periodic series on the history of international relations.

Dr. Ba is an Assistant Professor teaching in the Department of History and the School of Education at Laurentian University.  Dr. Ba's research focuses on colonial and contemporary Africa. His most recent book discusses African soldiers and their participation in the French colonial army in Madagascar from 1895 to 1960.
