NU Big Bike Ride a success
On Friday, May 29, some Nipissing staff and faculty took to the streets for the Big Bike Ride in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation help heart disease and stroke survivors go home to the people they love.
There were 29 Nipissing University members who helped power and steer the Big Bike.
“The support I received from the university and my co-workers was great, “ said team organizer, Diane Sheldon. “Once I received the help from my Co-Captain and our Assistant VP of Students sending out invitations we were able to fill the Big Bike in no time.”
The team was successful in collecting $4,858 in donations, far eclipsing their $1,500 goal.
“We are very grateful for the support we received,” added Sheldon.
Last year over 70,000 riders, in over 200 communities from coast to coast helped raise over $8 million for research.
If you missed out on a seat on the Big Bike, you can still have make a difference by donating here until August 31.
