Alpha Gamma Phi hosting Artist Market
Here’s your chance to buy some cool art, help the Humane Society and support a student sorority. Nipissing’s inaugural sorority, Alpha Gamma Phi, is hosting an Artist’s Market on campus today to raise money for the North Bay and District Humane Society.
The market runs from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, outside the Campus Shop.
Local artists, Diane Davies, Hayley Heaslip, Caitlyn Marion, Abby Sison, and Kat Stewart have generously donated a variety of artworks, including paintings, drawings, and prints for the cause.
Artwork is priced anywhere between $5 and $50. Alpha Gamma Phi will donate 50 percent of the proceeds directly to the Humane Society, the other 50 percent will go to the contributing artist.
Donations towards the Humane Society are also gladly accepted.
The sorority's goal is to bring together, empower, and inspire strong female students at Nipissing University. Alpha Gamma Phi's two core philanthropies are the Canadian Cancer Society, and the North Bay Humane Society, with a goal of raising $1,000 for each by the end of this academic year. The sorority also hopes to support other endeavours within the Nipissing and North Bay communities.
