Geography student earns scholarship
Congratulations to fourth-year student Kyle Wittmaier on earning the 2015-16 Esri Canada GIS Scholarship.
Wittmaier is pursuing a Concurrent Education – Geography degree and plans to continue his education with a Master's degree in Geography (specialising in GIS), before completing a doctoral degree.
Esri Canada distributes the ArcGIS software that Nipissing’s Geography department uses to deliver the Geomatics and Geographic Information System courses. Each year, ESRI provides the scholarship opportunity to a Geography student who has excelled in GIS and has plans to apply GIS in their post-graduate career, be it as a graduate student, in a related work career, or as an educator. The Esri Canada GIS Scholarship provides the awardee with $1,500, a year's free ArcGIS licence, and free access to resources in the form of books and on-line training. This is the sixth year that the award has been provided to a Nipissing student.
