Lakers men’s hockey team giving back to students

The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team recently continued their tradition of making a donation to the Nipissing University Student Food Bank.
This year, the team donated almost a tonne of food, thanks to their food drive, fundraising efforts and the continued sponsorship efforts of Mike and Lori Sheehan's No Frills on McKeown Avenue.

Over the past six years of making this donation, the men's hockey team has given about three tonnes of food.

“We are grateful to the men’s hockey team for their continued support of the student food bank,” said Jordan Andrews, vice-president internal and president elect of the Nipissing University Student Union. “This was one of the largest donations we’ve received this year and it will provide real and tangible help for students. We all wish the team good luck as they begin playoffs.”
