NU community warming and welcoming refugees
Students, staff, and faculty at Nipissing have come together in the spirit of welcome and crafting!
Since launching the Nipissing University 25,000 Tuques Project on December 1, the Student Learning and Transitions department has collected more than 100 handmade tuques and welcome notes from the Nipissing University community. These hats will be given to the 25,000 Syrian refugees who are coming to Canada this year as a symbol of welcome. Ten of the hats that have been collected at Nipissing University have already been included in the welcome basket given to a family who will be making their new home in North Bay.
