NU Grad discussing UN internship
The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC) is pleased to present Politics at the Pub, featuring Nipissing graduate Neil Siviter discussing his 2015 United Nations internship on February 23 at Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen (300 Wyld Street) from 7-9 p.m.Titled, Nipissing University at the United Nations: One Alum’s Internship Experience, Sivitar will discuss the UN, student internships in general, and the advantages of this type of experience while attending a post-secondary institution.
Students who are considering internships are encouraged to attend. The presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer session.
This event is free to CIC Members. For members of the general public, the cost is $15, and for students the cost is $5.Please register with the online registration system, here, before February 23, as seating is limited.
Siviter is a recent graduate of Nipissing University's Political Science program, and, has completed various internships with the Canadian Government, U.S. State Department, and the United Nations. At the United Nations' New York City headquarters he worked within the Public Information division where he completed research and writing for UN publications, as well as social media materials, and a multiplicity of special events. In this experience, he also attended the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations attended by 153 Heads of State, and 4000 journalists worldwide, gaining a ground-level perspective of the organization during its most important annual event. He is currently completing graduate school applications for entry in September 2016.
