NU set to welcome students
It’s the start of another new year as Nipissing welcomes new and returning students to campus for the beginning of the academic year.
Residences will be rocking on move-in day Saturday, August 27, with students unloading all their stuff, friends getting reacquainted and future friends meeting for the very first time.
On Monday, August 29, classes begin for Schulich School of Education students. Those students entering their first year in the Education program will begin a week of orientation; students in their second year of Education will begin classes before heading out for placement September 6-9, allowing them the opportunity to discover the first week of school from the teacher’s perspective.
Frosh Week launches on Tuesday, August 30, with the theme Frosh Week’s Greatest Hits. The Nipissing University Student Union has added social and educational modules to create a balanced week for the new students.
After a fun and exhausting week of team-building events like The Amazing Race, Beach Day and the Muddy Olympics, students will head out to shine the city on Saturday, September 3, for the annual cystic fibrosis fundraiser, Shinerama. Look for Nipissing students out shining that day, and please give generously.
Tuesday, September 6, heralds the start of classes for students in the Faculty of Applied and Professional Studies and the Faculty of Arts and Science.
