Students invited to discover Nipissing at Open House
Nipissing University is rolling out the red carpet and inviting prospective students and their families to discover everything that Nipissing University has to offer during their annual March Open House March 18, and 19.
Nipissing will welcome more than 250 students with their families and friends from all across Ontario to North Bay over the two-day event. Open House runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and promises to showcase what makes the NU community unique.
Guests are provided tours of the campus with stops at the award winning Harris Learning Library, the brand new athletics centre and Nipissing’s top-ranked residences.
“We have outstanding new facilities and one of the most beautiful campuses in all of Canada. We make a point of showcasing our natural environment and students love the 20 kilometres of hiking trails, and Duchesnay Falls,” said Carla Tucker, acting manager of student recruitment.
Guests will also tour Nipissing’s leading-edge laboratories and will discuss academic programs and student services with Nipissing faculty, staff and current students. Open House is an opportunity for guests to experience first hand Nipissing’s one student at a time approach to learning and compare it to other institutions.
“This is such an exciting time for prospective students and their families because they are really in the process of deciding where they will be spending their next 4-6 years,” says Tucker. “We always recommend that students visit multiple campuses to see where the best fit is for them and we’d like to think that Nipissing is a great fit for a lot of students. We know that the vast majority of students who visit our campus, choose to stay.”
