Career Fair offers opportunities for Education students
The Schulich School Of Education’s Career Fair is offering students opportunities to teach in Ontario, in Canada or internationally, in a traditional classroom setting or something completely different. On Friday, January 27, Nipissing University will welcome 36 diverse organizations to the Career Fair, representing Canadian and international organizations looking to hire graduates from the highly respected Schulich School of Education. The Career Fair is attracting 11 provincially based employers, 6 nationally based employers, 16 internationally-based employers, and three teaching federations who will be providing key information regarding the teaching profession. The annual fair is an excellent venue for students to meet prospective employers, showcase skills and discuss hiring practices.
A total of 18 employers will be conducting formal employment interviews in private rooms during the day.
“Employers are excited about the opportunity to come to Nipissing and talk to our students. We had organizations contacting us in September to ensure they could get a table at the Career Fair. That’s a testament to the value of a degree from the Schulich School of Education,” said Dr. Carole Richardson, Dean of the Schulich School of Education.
School boards and international teaching agencies are well represented at the fair. There are also a number of opportunities outside a traditional classroom for students graduating with a Bachelor of Education. For example:Camp Kodiak, an integrated summer program for children with and without Learning Disabilities, ADHD and high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder;the Boundless School, an outdoor adventure centre; andCanadian Educational Services, a group that hires expert consultants to help people achieve their educational goals.
The Schulich School Of Education’s Career Fair runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Education Centre Gymnasium on January 27.
