Csuzdi earns Woman of the Year
At the annual Ontario Public Service Employees (OPSEU) Convention this year, Catherine Csuzdi, Learning Systems Technologist at Nipissing University, earned a Woman of the Year for her work in advancing Women's Issue within North Eastern Ontario. Csuzdi was also elected Chair of the Provincial Young Workers Committee.
Csuzdi holds a bachelor of science in Environmental Biology and Technology from Nipissing University’s collaborative program with Canadore College.
Active in supporting youth and community values, Csuzdi was recently elected for her third term on the Ontario Public Services Provincial Youth Committee. Throughout her terms on this committee she has helped facilitate support for young workers beginning their careers in the province, and helped plan and teach skills to young workers at two province-wide conferences.
Csuzdi strives to enhance the learning experience for people, both online and face-to-face, and regardless of the subject. She is passionate about helping students, faculty, staff and young workers to become more comfortable with technology and activate their creativity within technology, sciences and community activities.
Csuzdi also serves as Nipissing Area Council Chair, and vice-president of local 608 (Nipissing University Support Staff). She sits on university sector executive, and the We Own It Mobilizer. She is extremely active in her community as an associate member of the Warrior of Hope Dragon Boat team and a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sister of North Bay.
