New chapter for Dr. Page
Congratulations to Dr. Aroha Page, associate professor in the school of nursing, who has recently published a chapter in the new, fourth edition of Fundamentals of Canadian Nursing: Concepts, Process, and Practice.
Page’s chapter is titled Leading, Managing and Delegating.
Learning outcomes from the chapter include the ability to describe the nurse’s clinical leadership role in patient care, compare and contrast leadership and management, differentiate formal from informal leaders, compare and contrast leadership styles, identify the characteristics of an effective leader, compare and contrast the levels of management, describe the skills and competencies needed by a nurse manager, describe the functions of management, describe the change management theories and the impact of change on leadership decisions, and discuss the role and function of nurse leaders in planning for and implementing change.
