New scholarship available
There’s a new scholarship for students at Nipissing University thanks to a $30,000 pledge from the KPMG Foundation. The KPMG Foundation Business Scholarships, worth $2,000, will be presented annually to three full-time on-campus students enrolled in second- or third-year courses in Nipissing’s School of Business. The scholarships will be available for the next five years, including this year. Recipients must demonstrate high academic achievement, specifically in accounting or finance related courses. Each of the award recipients will also be provided the opportunity to interview with KPMG for potential employment.
“We have a history of hiring strong candidates from the north. These wonderful students are interested in working and remaining here, which has allowed us to attract and retain the best candidates. We hope that this investment will help the strong students of Nipissing University pursue their academic and ultimately their career goals,” said Laurie Bissonette a partner at KPMG.
“Nipissing University thanks KPMG for this investment in our students,” said Cheryl Sutton, vice-president, finance and administration at Nipissing University. “Scholarships are vitally important to our students, and we are thrilled that KPMG recognizes their needs and believes in the incredible value these students bring to our region and our province.”
